The College of Wooster
The MacLeod tartan has held a special place in the heritage of the College of Wooster. Kilts in the Scottish pattern were funded by an alumnus in 1939 and the college has embraced it to display their school spirit ever since. For the Lowry Center student hub, the tartan was utilized in new ways and inspired the school’s new brand. By zooming in to discover new scales of the pattern, cropping it in interesting ways, and pairing it with imagery of students, athletes, and musicians, the tartan becomes a flexible identity system with endless possibilities of expression.
