The Cadets
Founded in 1934, the Cadets was one of the most honored drum corps in history until their dissolve in 2024.
After celebrating their 75th anniversary, the Cadets decided it was time for a change. The creative brief defined key ideas: innovative, traditional, fast, creative, on the edge, powerful. How do you create an identity that is at once innovative and traditional?
Since the corps’ formation, the Cadets West Point-style uniform in maroon and gold was immediately recognizable like no other in the drum corps activity. The identity paid tribute to the past while looking toward the future. Three chevrons inspired by the uniform’s embroidered sleeve also connote ideas of dynamism, innovation, and forward thinking. The letter C acts as a partial outline around the arrows to represent the idea of being on the edge and pushing the boundaries. A full line of graphic apparel extended the brand identity of the corps through clean and crisp details based on the symbol.
